Peugeot 3008 Key Fob Problems
The mid-sized SUV from Peugeot 3008, has plenty of positive qualities. It looks smart, drives well and has a big boot. Can it be competitive in the most crowded segment of the market, perhaps?
If your Peugeot keyfob doesn't work it could have been exposed to clean or soapy tap water. It may be necessary to remove the battery, then clean it with isopropyl alcohol or electronic cleaner.
Dead coin battery
Peugeot key fobs are powered by the coin-sized battery. The power used to operate the remote locking mechanism and other functions. The battery has a limited lifespan and can wear out over the course of years of use. Voltage testing is a straightforward method to determine if the battery is in a bad state. A multimeter can measure the voltage that is between the battery's plus and the minus poles. This test will tell you whether the battery is dead.

If you've been using your Peugeot 3008 for a while, and the key fobs have stopped working, there may be an issue with the receiver module. The receiver module is responsible for receiving radio frequency signals from the key fobs and sending them to the car's systems. If the receiver module has an issue, it will not be able send commands to the other modules in the car.
Another common cause for a non-working key fob is moisture or sweat on the circuit board. This can lead to short circuits, which will cause the battery to be depleted and disable the fob's remote locking feature. If this is the case you must take your key fob in to a technician who is skilled in chip level repairs.
Water damage
Water damage can be a problem in the event that you dropped your keyfob in the swimming in the pool, washed it off or left it out in the rain. Water is a great conductor, and can short out circuit boards. It can also cause corrosion of the traces of metal and other components on the key fob. A wet circuit can also cause batteries to lose their charge.
If you have an extra key fob, use it to lock/unlock the Peugeot 3008 in order to rule out a dead coin-cell battery as the source of the problem. Another issue that may prevent your key fob from working properly is interference signals which interfere with the signal sent to the receiver module. These signals can be caused by a variety of sources that include radio transmitters in the vicinity.
If you hear sloshing sounds emanating from the interior of your Peugeot 3008 when driving, it's most likely caused by a blocked condensate drain in the evaporator. You can test this by blowing compressed air into the drain holes in your door. You can also use a flexible wire to move the drain holes around and dislodge any dirt that might have been accumulating there. Air pockets can be identified by sloshing sound.
Faulty receiver module
The receiver module of a Peugeot 3008 key fob is responsible to transmit the remote keyless system signal from the key fob to the car's receiver. If the receiver module is damaged, it could prevent the car from recognizing the key fob. This issue can also be caused by the battery being dead or water damage. Also, interference from electronic devices operating at the same frequency. In these instances an error message such as "card not detected" might appear on the display.
Fortunately, there are several ways to fix this problem. You can try to replace the battery or reprogram the key fob. You can also make use of a spare key to start the car. However, if the fob isn't working after these steps, it may have a chip that's malfunctioning.
It is best to get rid of the chip and clean it with rubbing alcohol and paper towel. If the chip is fried it is recommended to purchase another one. The FB Series enclosures come with the battery holder for coins that can be used with the most commonly used types of key fob batteries. They can also be customized by using digital printing or CNC machined cutouts. If your key fob was exposed to dirty or salty tap water, the chip may be contaminated and require to be cleaned.
Keyless entry systems with malfunctions
If you are seeing "card not detected", this indicates that your car cannot receive a signal sent by your key fob. This can be caused by various factors, including an insufficient or dead battery. Most often, the issue can be resolved by pushing the start button with the key fob. In certain instances however, you may need to take the key fob to a Peugeot dealership for repairs.
The battery test is the first step to fixing a Peugeot 3008 keyfob that doesn't unlock or lock doors. Batteries are often the root of a malfunctioning key fob. However there are other causes that could be at play. These include worn buttons and water damage.
If you've recently been exposed to water and have your Peugeot key fob exposed to water that is clean, it's a good idea to remove the battery and dry the electronic components using paper towels. G28 can also use isopropyl Alcohol or a cleaner for this purpose. If the fob has been exposed to soap or salty water, it's recommended to replace it.
If your key fob not working, you can try to reset it by disconnection of the battery with 12 volts for approximately 15 minutes. Then reconnect the negative cable first, then followed by the positive one.
